Hello!
My family is impatiently waiting the arrival of our four new chicks. We live in the San Fernando Valley, CA in an area zoned for them. I'm working closely with the woman at the feed store who's advising me, but I'm really glad I found this site. I am brand new to raising chicks.
I have two questions:
How long should I keep the chicks in their first lodging (it's basically a rabbit carrier) I've been told a few different things and want to have their coop ready as soon as it's necessary.
I spoke with a friend's grandfather who grew up on a chicken farm and he told me that they had to teach their chicks to drink water. That's the first time I heard that one! Is that so, and how do I do this?
Thanks!
