Hello everyone, I'm a brand new member to BYC.My two year old son recently got two buff orpingtons and two long horns from his God- father for his birthday. Little did my wife and I know what we were getting into. We're both head over heals for these chiks. We've ordered two more, one golden laced Wyandotte and one Barred Rock. The coop we built took 5 long weekends, a trip to the ER, and the removal of a 3inch nail which penetrated completely through my thumb and slit the bone!! Needless to say, we love our girls and are happy to be part of this new family. Pictures coming soon!!

Gosh, I think that must be one of worst injuries a coop builder has encountered. Actually I don't believe anyone else has mentioned injury except severe fatigue. So sorry hope you will be on the mend. I am cringing at the thought of the pain involved and gore. Ugh!!

Already welcomed you on your other thread. All I can is I hope the rest of your chicken venture would be a bit less dramatic! [IMG]

It's true... The nail is only one of the many stories we ALREADY have to tell. [IMG] [IMG]
