Brand new

Welcome, PJ, to an amazing community of folks who are knowledgeable and generous with their expertise about all things chicken!

I'll be the first to give you some standard advice: Build a coop bigger than you think you will need because nearly all of us started out wanting 2 to 3 chickens, but ending up with anywhere from a few to a great many more.

My initial goal was three. I came home with four. That was dozens of chickens ago.

We're all here to help you in any way we can!

Hello PJ, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Please visit the Coop and Run Forum before finalizing your design as most people make serious errors in the design of a chicken coop and soon regret them.
Building far bigger than you actually need is a great idea as Chicken Math is REAL!

Hi PJ, under the Articles tab you'll find a link to Chicken Coops that other members have built and documented. Maybe looking through some of those build articles will help with ideas of what sort of coop will work best for your needs.

Best wishes!
