Hi! I am Jackie. I live in central new york. Been married to Scott for 33 years. We have 4 boys, who still live with us. Yay I have been wanting to raise chickens for YEARS! However, i couldnt motivate Scott to build me a coop. So....when honey went out of town, i ran to the local agway store and bought my first flock of 6 2week old hens. Surprise!!!!! They are currently brooding in my bedroom, in a 45 gallon tote with all the amenities.
I waited til the day before Scott was due to fly home before i texted him the news...lol. (Cowardly, i know)
I am very excited about this new venture, the girls are doing well, although i am overprotective, which is why, i suppose, that my boys wont leave the nest either!
Anyway, I finally have the motivation for Scott to build me a coop! Which he will start, if he can ever get home since his flight was cancelled last night, and he wont be home til tomorrow night. I hope.

Hi Jackie, nice to meet you. My sister is a "Jackie" too. I don't think you are cowardly, you are wise. They often say on BYC, is easier to ask forgiveness than get permission.

When hubby gets home he will have lots of motivation - to build a coop and get the little cuties out of the house. It's all good!
