Brazilian teal x Ring teal?

Hi everyone never really post on these sites. I have a Brazilian teal drake and a ring teal hen that have fancied eachother. I’m curious if anything would come of this? I’ve heard of hybrids happening among other types of ducks.

I don't know, but they are each in a separate genus which makes them not closely related despite both being called a teal. My guess , no.

Most dabbling ducks and domestic ducks are all in the genus Anas.

That was my original thought but the Eurasian widgeon (mareca) has been seen breeding and hybridizing with the American widgeon (anas).

Yes, they would be able to hybridize and produce offspring.
