I make the majority of our bread from scratch here. My toddlers attempt to help me, but when I'm making bulk bread all day once a week, they really get in the way. This week, they were stealing pieces of my dough to eat! That's what I get for having honey wheat bread lovers, it doesn't even have to be cooked! LOL

Anyways, I know they just want to help, so I figured a bread machine would be perfect for them. They can add their ingredients and cook it... while being SAFE. I cannot tell you how many times they've attempted opening my oven to check on the bread [IMG]

So, I've been looking online for various bread machines. I've seen a few that I liked at Walmart, but with money being tight, figured I'd have to wait until after the holidays. Then I remembered freecycle! I found a new bread machine that I have to pickup tomorrow for the kids...

Long story short, what are some of your favorite bread machine recipes? I'm letting the boys make their own bread in the morning, so they have fresh bread for lunch sandwiches and they feel like they made it alone. I'll still do my bulk baking, but the bread machine will keep them entertained while I do mine. [IMG]

The lady said a book came with it, she may or may not have it... I just wondered if anyone else has recipes. My BHG Cookbook has a few.

I love my bread machine, but don't use it as much since the children are grown. You might try the fleischman (sp) yeast site (I even have a recipe book of theirs that has excellent recipes) or or the King Arthur flour site. Recipes are everywhere, but not all work in all machines. Experiment then keep the best ones. I will give you a hint about yeast. Go to Sam's or such and buy the bulk bag of yeast. I keep it in a jar in the freezer and only open it to take out the 1 or 2 teaspoons. It is way cheaper over time and I have had mine for several years. Don't let anyone tell you it will go bad, not in the freezer.

There have been a couple of good threads about bread machine bread recipes. I use mine a LOT. I dont use the machine to bake it, just to make it. I then allow the final rise in a bread pan and bake it. Oh yummy!!!!
