Wish me luck. One of my Buff Orp's has gone broody on me. I'm really not set up to do the hatching thing, no rooster or fertile eggs. I've been moving her off the nest for a few days to no avail. Luckily I had grabbed a wire rabbit hutch recently at a "take it or leave it area" at the local recycling center. Don't ask me why I grabbed it, but now I have a use for it. I put her in this morning with food and water and she's not happy. I'll let you all know how it works out. From what I've read on here it should work...

If she is sitting on eggs, take them out. Let her sit. My experience has been that the harder you try to break them, the more determined they become. Let her sit and warm the shavings. Eventually she will give up. I read a bunch of posts on the forum, some of which seem to come down to torture (hanging them in a cage to let their butt cool), and nothing worked.
