The chick is 4 weeks old today. It was mixed into my CX order. I didn't ask for it so now I have to find it a home in the next 2 weeks because the CX have another engagement and I need the coop empty for the next batch. I would like to be able to tell folks what this bird is so I can give it away. It was yellow with brown stripes on its back at hatch. Now it's beginning to turn tan all over. Help.

Oh. Forgot. It weighs about 12 oz. if that helps.

Hmm. It looks like a very heavy weight breed. Possibly a purebred Cornish (not a Cornish Cross). Are you sure that it isn't a Cornish Cross as well?

Pretty sure it's not a Cornish Cross. It weighs 12 oz, is always walking around, actively forages out in the chicken yard and the rest of my CX eat, sit and weigh over 3 pounds.

Sorry, nothing's jumping out at me, just tell folks it's a mystery cockerel. Then tell them they can post more pics on byc when it's a few months old [IMG]
