I was told that this was a red sex link. And a rooster. But I caught this one sitting on a clutch of eggs and has a gigantic comb. Is this a hen??? No crowing or egg laying so far. Seems very friendly and I can pick up and pet.

Red Sex-link hen. A rooster of the breed would be a much different color. When she lays (and it looks like it will be soon!), she should lay large brown eggs.

Awesome thanks ! So the massive red comb is normal for this breed?

Yes, it is relatively normal. It is true that many hens do have smaller combs than her, but it is also common for highly productive or dominant hens to develop such large, red combs.
