I have a flock of about 20 chickens that have gone through fowl pox. Hoping to breed them, although not sure tgat is a good idea since they have had fowl pox.

Are the chickens now permanent carriers that would spread the disease with the baby chicks?

Considering culling the lot and ordering fresh from a hatchery as well.

Thanks in advance , been lurking this forum for a while

Previously infected birds do not remain carriers of fowlpox. They do remain permanently immune to the disease however.
