Breed Guesses for EE Roo

Hi there! My first group of fall and winter chicks are all grown and finally started laying little eggs. We got sexed pullets and out of 13 only 1 was a cockerel. He's an EE and pretty handsome, very dark red mahogany which I like. His disposition seems good so far too. I was just wondering if anyone can suggest what breeds might have resulted in his look.

Easter eggers in general these days are bred Easter egger to Easter egger. Though they are still considered a mixed breed, but they are also vaguely purebred. It would be impossible to guess anything but an Easter egger. He is a good looking boy.

I would cross him with your EE hens and see if you can set the color by breeding the offspring from that breeding together, as it is an unusual and striking color.

Your roo is very handsome. EEs can be the most beautiful chickens. If I could only pick one breed it would be them.
