What breed is the chick with the V marking on the head?
So many possibilities at that age---I have had Rhode Island Reds with that markings. What are the other chicks?
My speckled Sussex looked very similar to that....
The others are RIR. The feathers look different to me. It also has a back line on the side of the face through the eyes.
I think we have a winner. I just looked up a speckled Sussex chick and it's a dead ringer. Thanks SueT!
Here's my S Sussex as a baby. As yours it gets its feathers, you should be able to tell for sure.
I'm excited. They sure are pretty birds. Do you have a picture of her now?
well, here she w her Barred Rock sister at 6 mo. (3 mo ago) BTW, your chick might also be a Welsummer. Look up images for Welsummer chicks.
Could be a Speckled Sussex, Welsummer, Brown Leghorn, etc. We'll have a better idea when it is older.
could be a SS I actually have a bantam ss that I wasn't sure what it was and after this post I did some research and am sure mine is as well
