I would like to increase my knowledge on poultry to help with showing. Right now I'm showing in county fairs and want to want know more about breeds. So I think I'm going to start a thread to gather info about chicken breeds, and maybe later about other breeds of poultry.

Once a week or so I will post the name of the breed I want to start studying next. This is where you come in. You guys can help by posting links to threads or websites that provide information on the breed standard, history, colors, genes, anything. Information on either large fowl or Bantams versions, too. Just something to learn about!

This week I have already begun to further study Bantam Wyandottes - my primary breed I've been showing for three years. Even though I know lost about the breed, like I said, any info will help!

I think this is going to be fun! Thanks in advance!

P.S. I also have access to a 2010 APA SOP (American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection) book, and I have 9 or 10 poultry books on my shelf. If you want to recommend a book, I might have it, or I can get it. :)
