Hey just creating a breed wishlist that i am planning on purchasing soon. looking for amiable, good laying, preferably dual purpose and pretty birds.

blue laced red wyandottes (probably 2)
    Easter eggers (2 also)

also looking for a breed that regularly lays reasonably large eggs.
    so any ideas?

What do you think of my list so far?

Wow! That sounds like a really great bunch of choocks have fun with the new ones, I only have personal experience with silkies from your list but know it'll be great.

As for my girls and boy I have:

    3x silkies (1 male 2 female)
    2x Rhode Island reds
    2x light Sussex
    1x Australorp
    2x faverolles

They are my first flock and are all quite young. None of them are pure breed and all have a bit of something else in them except my Australorp who I am pretty sure is pure.

That sucks, how did you stop the hawk,
we haven't lost any yet but we haven't had them for very long, or fencing on the outside has a roof and weve got chicken wire under ground, we just haven't been tested by a fox yet so fingers crossed
