Breed???

Looks like an American Game fowl to me. I raised and bred show quality for 15 years. I'd say sub-variety of Clariot , Butcher or Albany. Based on his white streamline (the single white tail feather) I would say Butcher. very handsome boy. I am concerned with his comb and it's lack of care. He needs dubbing and clipping to prevent any health hazards. Game fowl have a higher level of Testosterone therefore the comb grows at an amazing rate. Parasites, Frost Bite and Blood Clots are common. Not to mention the danger of another rooster getting ahold of it. That is the original reason they are dubbed. Cock-Fighting (evil) rings dubbed the birds to prevent him from getting his comb in the other roosters beak. This put his head in a bad spot , spur territory.

I would do some research on the topic. I wait until a full moon and I use very sharp, sterile scissors and use flour to stop the bleeding. Provide lots of water and observe for any health changes.

I have thought of dubbing it before but I've never dubbed a chicken before.
