Is there a way to know if my hen is sitting on fertilized eggs without actually having contact with the eggs?

If you have a rooster, chances are the eggs are fertile. I never check mine, I just believe my roo covers all my girls. If you have one roo and say over 20 hens, your chances are smaller of having all fertile eggs. Less than that, though, and you're probably good to go.

One rooster and three hens living together will give you all fertile eggs. Once in a rare while one might not get fertilized, but that'll be rare.
