I am just trying to understand how Pastel works when it comes to breeding Muscovies. How does it get inherited, dominant, recessive etc etc.
Have 1 Pastel Lilac Pied Drake to work with and Lilac, Blue, Choc(both single and double factor) and Black hens I can cross him over. How does pastel get passed on? If I cross him over the Lilac, will a percentage of ducklings be pastels for example?
Am aiming for as many Solid Pastel ducklings as possible so I can get rid of the drake(I breed for solid colours, I dunno where the Pied is coming from again, but it was hiding somewhere with the pastel gene apparently and had to pop out in the same bird together

Also, I am still trying to understand Silver as well, is there a Pastel gene present? The Pastel Lilac Pied Drake has 2 Solid Silver full brothers and not sure what to expect them to throw really either, never worked with either colour but both popped up last year out of my flock I had been working with for the past 10 yrs.
