Someone told me that if i bought a older male pee now to mate with my femal and if he broke a feather while bringing him home he would not mate. & that i needed to wait until Sept.

Don't believe that is the case, now if they molt their train then yes they will be infertile till the grow another.

It may take tthe male and female a while to get to know each other before they mate but it has been my experence that being penned next to each other for a couple weeks and see how they interact and if all goes well turn them loose together.

You wait till sept and it may be to late for eggs, just depends where you are located.

So did you catch the 2 peacocks that showed up at your place?

X2. I think mine broke feathers last year, but still mated. But once they lost their train, the mating stopped.

Can you tell if your female is the same age as your male? does she have spurs?
What i am thinking if the female is young as the male she will not be breeding this year anyhow, mabe not next year eather if she is under the age of a year now.
