Breeds and gender?

I'm thinking White Leghorn and Cuckoo Maran, but I'm not positive. Praying for hens. Please tell me there's hope! They are eight weeks old- born April 11th.

Your barred is a male. The other looks like a pullet.

The white leghorn is a pullet. The cuckoo maran is a boy. Too much red wattle and comb for an 8-week old pullet. I hope I'm wrong on that one tho.

Nope, not a Leghorn (yours has goldish feathers around its neck) and no white earlobes, I think it is some sort of sex-link hybrid pullet. The other looks like a Black sex-link cockerel. Where did you get them?

The barred one doesn't have yellow legs like a BR. Wonder if the other is an amber white, I think they call them.

The fertilized eggs came from a family farm and my third graders incubated them.

Chances are then they are mixed, the pullet has a gorgeous color !
