I just hatched these little chicks yesterday, and was wondering what breeds you think they might be?
I got the eggs from a friend, who has Australorps. They hatched out of brown eggs.
    Thanks!

Kinda surprised by the head spots. I seem to recall that Australorps are supposed to have little white to pale yellow chins and undersides and don't think they are supposed to have the head spots. That's more of a barred or cuckoo trait. Does your friend also have a Barred Rock or Cuckoo Marans? Cuties none the less! Congrats on the hatch.

Australorp chicks CAN have white markings around their heads, but usually not this uniformly. I would guess that your friend also has a barred rocks as well.

I know he doesn't have Cuckoo marans, but I believe he does have barred rocks. [IMG] Thanks for your help!
