ETA: Embdens can be sexed at hatch by down color, though some strains have lost this ability. The darker-downed females often get grey in their feathering until their final molt. My girls should be completely white by next spring (though I do wonder about the one who has a lot of grey--almost black--on her, she'll probably always have some)
