Brinsea Mini Eco Hatching Information

Hi!

I have 9 cross breed eggs in my new brinsea mini eco incubator. they're pretty big eggs so its pretty cramped in there! they've been in for 14 days now, due to hatch on the 9th of august!

soo.. i've heard of people putting the eggs in cartons before lock down so that the newly hatched chicks dont disturb the unhatched eggs, has anyone done this or similar in the brinsea incubators before?
or do you think this is a good idea? or any other suggestions?

also is anyone else using a brinsea mini eco incubator??

If they are large eggs they will not fit in the cartons in the Brinsea Mini no matter how small you cut the cartons. I always remove the egg tray and put a cut a piece of non-stick shelf liner in a circle (with a small circular cut out in the middle so it is shaped like a doughnut) and use that to line the bottom, and just lay the eggs on their sides for hatching. I find if you do not use the shelf liner the eggs will get jostled around more by the hatching chicks and also the plastic floor is too slippery for their little feet (you don't want them slipping around and possibly developing splay leg). ooh okay sound! is it bad if the chicks turn the unhatched eggs? can it make the hatching go wrong? thankyouu

In a Brinsea Mini, that is the best way I have come up with to prevent the chicks from rolling the eggs. It has never been a problem for me, but I always figure better safe than sorry!
