I culled two hens on Sunday and both of them had gobs of yellow broken yolk goo inside their abdomens. I am assuming they were internal layers? Also pulled out a "jelly egg" that she was preparing to lay. This explains why out of 9 hens I've only been getting 2 eggs a day [IMG]

Do you think they are ok to eat? They did not show any other signs except one had crusted poo around her behind. Otherwise everything inside looked ok.

Yup, no problem. That's what you'll find inside layers.
