broken shells

    Broken egg shells in the nesting box. Something is getting my eggs! Besides full time camping out there, any sugesstions?

    It might possibly be that your hens are eating their eggs. Unless you are sure it's a predator.

    My hens eat every bit of the egg when one gets broken, rats,dogs,squirrels,possums and coons are some that leave behind shells.

    rats may be eating your egg shells, or it might be the chicken its self.

    A trail cam is a good way to see what it is, i thought i had a rat in my brooder and this is how i knew for sure, he gone now [​IMG]

    Could it be the shells are too thin and they are breaking from the hens moving them or stepping on them?
