Brooder pen

I am going to build my own brooder pen. I am building it out of ply wood. I want to paint the inside, to protect the wood and make cleaning up easier. I also have a larger brooder Hood I will be putting in it, with temperature control. What kind of paint will be safe to use with the chick (in case they peck at it) and will be safe under the heat lamps?

Any house paint would be good. Chicks are not likely to eat away the paint.
