Ok...so I was all excited about picking up my Silkies tomorrow until...... My grandfather brought 11 Ameraucanas to the house last night.....now they are in the brooder. The chicks are about 11 days old today. The Silkies that I am picking up tomorrow are around the same age. Is it ok to put them together in the same brooder or do I need to keep them seperate? Also, I will try and post pics later.....I'm not really sure that all of them are Ameraucanas or they are actually that old. A couple of the chicks are twice the size of the others? Again, I will try and post pics in a bit!! Thanks for the help!! Amy
Hey, unless those Ameraucanas are really mean, they'll get along I had 2-3 wk. olds in a brooder (about to go outside) and we bought a BANTAM Japanese (really tiny and adorable) And the 3 wk. olds LOVE her! She tried to snuggle with them and stuff.. so i think if their about the same age they'll be fine! Good luck!
My 2 wk old when I got them RIR's went in with 3 day old Barred Rocks...the RIR's have played "mommy" to them from the start.
Ok...finally got some pics on here. I was only able to upload 2 pics. Dial-up internet sucks!! Anyway, the variation of their coloring is so different. See what you guys think? This is the one that I think is more than likely a Roo...he is so much bigger than the others. These 2 little ones are the smallest of the bunch and their coloring is completely different. Thanks.....Amy
