That is going to be one really nice colorful flock of chickens. How big is the brooder size wise, it looks to be about 2 x 2.5 feet maybe? You'll be OK for a week or two but they will outgrow it pretty fast.
yea its a lil bigger than 2.5x3.5 i'll get the specs later when i get outta work. I was afraid from seein pics on here that they'd outgrow it quickly. Im building the coop next weekend w my contractor friend who actually helped me rebuild my folks house after Hurricane Sandy so he's a good friend. If its not ready in time maybe i'll just have to fashion up another brooder
Better get building, they grow fast. Those plastic tubs do make it pretty easy to throw together another brooder quick if you have to. And remember to take chicken math into account, you always wind up with at least twice as many chickens as you planned on when you started.
Two chicken math links, read them and weep. Then start building a bigger coop. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/730740/the-chicken-math-contest-who-has-the-worst-case https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/678858/explaining-chicken-math By on their way out, are you having problems with chicks you have gotten today?
Yea speckled sussex just passed 2 hours ago. Light brahma wont open eyes cant stand up or sit. Cries periodically and kicks and flips around onto her back often. Other than that she doesnt move. She's on 24 hr watch.
