Rats! my little girl has was back for a visit yesterday after being out the night before, but then disappeared again before I could lock her up. Now she's really in hiding. My other chickens look so sad, they are quite subdued and stayed in the coop all day. We have moved all the food and water out of the pen and into the coop, so she'll have to come in if she's hungry or thirsty. I know she can hear me when I call and shake the can of goodies . . . she's usually the first one to come running, but not now. Any suggestions to encourage her out, or do we just have to wait until she's ready?
