I went out to candle the eggs under the broody hens tonight. I was surprised by the amount of eggs beneath Chickles (named by my son...) and found one of SUPER SIZE!! My hens that are laying now are all bantams and the one white one (Blanca)

We dont know her breed.... but shes caring for 8 eggs....
    When I lifted Chickles, [IMG]
there were 16 eggs beneath her.. and this was one of them.....

and one with a dime for comparison..[IMG]

I wish I knew which hen layed this one... I'd hug her! And after candling, it seemed to have marked development inside. with a nice air pocket in the end.
Any idea of the breed of Blanca the white one?

Are the tan spots just dirty or is that her actual coloring? if she's dirty, I'd guess a Delaware.
