Broody hen lost her tail feathers!

My broody hen has lost all of her tail feathers in a matter of 3 to 4 days. Doesn’t molting take a lot longer. I mean every long tail feather has fallen of so now she has a round butt. Could she have a disease!?? I’m hoping she isn’t sick cause she has three little fluff balls to take care of.

Some hens moult hard, and they do generally do it right after they go broody. I picked up my broody hen a week after she hatched her babies, and feathers fell from her like snowfall. She finished up two weeks later.

She’s molting. Happened to my Old English Game Bantam x Golden Sebright Bantam pullet about 2 week after she hatched her chicks. She is actually going through a second molt now.

Wow did you say your pulled hatched chicks! Bantams are incredible. Thank you all for replying so quickly
