I did a search on what to do with a broody hen and the most often given advice was placing the hen in a wire bottomed cage. If I don't have one of those can I just close off the nesting boxs after the one and only hen that ISN'T broody has laid her egg and force the other four hens outside...or will they just fine a place outside to sit !!! this is frustrating....will this broodyness go away on its own??

thanks for all the help and advice

    I had to break mine...
she was wanting to sit and did so for about 4 days before I had to break her. I did not have to go the wire cage method as I think I was lucky...
I took her out of the coop and did not let her have access to her nest for a whole day and let her roam my yard... and it worked !!!! I think she forgot all about what she was doing !! lol

But... I do think I got lucky [IMG]
