Broody hen

    I had my hen hatch out one little chick, and in two and a half weeks I am having some hatch out of an incubator. Can I put those chicks under the mother

    Not advisable. There's a good chance she'll reject and kill them, as she'll have already finished bonding with the first chicks.

    I agree it's not a good idea. Most hens will be pretty set on who is theirs and who is not after the first few days, and won't tolerate additional chicks.

    If, on the off chance the hen is a frequent broody, who has successfully raised chicks in the past, and tolerated other chicks, you might give it a try. But a first time broody, or one that has struggled in the past, I would not try it.
