Broody hen

21 days. You can candle the eggs to see how far along they are if you don't know. Candling is shining a flashlight inside the egg (when it's dark). How many is she sitting on?

I'm not sure she has a fit when I try to move her she blows up like a big blow fish this is my first time ever having any of my hens do this to me .. so can I move her off the egg ?

You can move her if you need to. It shouldn't break her broodiness. She may try to bite or peck you but it's easy to lift them off the nest.

It's really important you know how many eggs she's sitting on. The other hens may be laying more eggs in the nest which results in staggered hatches and sitting on more eggs then she can handle. You can bring a pencil and draw a line around the eggs.
