how long do hens stay broody...she has been broody for the last 3 days

Until you break her of it, she gets bored and gives up, dies of malnutrition or hatches a clutch. Break her or give her fertile eggs to hatch. Staying broody without one of these 2 options is real hard on their bodies. And yes they can hatch and raise chicks in the fall/winter. Mine just hatched 2 egg on thursday.
