Broody hen ?

My orpington hen 8-months will not leave her nesting box. she has no egg with her and this has been going on fo 1 week. She ia all puffed up and making a strange sound! is she broody or sick?

sounds like she's broody. Do you have a roo? can you give her some eggs to sit on?

I call it "percolating" the sound mine makes when ever I walk into the coop...she is on day 18 today of sitting on eggs!!
