my chickens stillhave a ways to go but i wanted to be ready for when they do go broody. so please help me! first, we have had chickens go broody befor and they have not hatched anything but that was when we didnt have a chicken coop just sheds with hay bells to make a door. now that we have a chiken coop all of our good broodies are long gone now but we do have a lot of pullets that have just been moved into the big pen with the roos and some younger rooos too. but what happens when one of my chickens go broody? so i take a little dog crate to put the hens in with food and water? or do i just let her be and let her pick a good place to go broody? i was thinking dog crate because then she couldnt go anywhere and she would have to set on the eggs... it is a huge dog crate though so i think she would have plunty of room.
