Broody Hens

I have 2 broody hens that have been sitting on the nest for about a week or so. I don't know if I should give them each some fertile eggs or give them each a chick because I have 2 silkie eggs due to hatch this weekend. If the eggs hatch, they would each get 1 chick but I need your help on what to do.

I would put a new set of fertile eggs under your broodies. Mark them of course, so you could always remove new additions from other hens. Doing so would test them on their dedication. 21 days is a long commitment. My Mama Hen #2 kept playing around thru March & April. Now she is dedicated and she's approaching Day 18 tomorrow with her clutch (3rd try) this season.
