We have a little OEG bantam named Dove who went broody some time ago. Her first clutch of eggs went bad after a couple weeks so we got rid of them. She still wanted to sit, so last month we gave her three eggs--one from our lavender orpington (with a LO roo), one from one of our sapphire olive eggers (father is a red cochin bantam ), and one from a gold sebright (father could be the same red cochin, or a white silkie). The first chick pipped and hatched yesterday (my birthday!), the second one pipped last night and hatched overnight, and the third one is pipping right now! We can't wait to see the last chick!
The first chick to hatch was the little bantam, and it is colored like a gold sebright, but has feathered legs and feet (red cochin bantam is probably the dad), and the one from the olive egger is black with white speckles and has feathered legs and feet. Hopefully the LO continues to hatch with no issues. I'll take some pictures asap.
