One of my broody lost her baby to what i am not to sure. I was wondering if i can give her a week old chick that i have in my basement. will she take to it or will she know the difference and try to kill it. Oh ya it is a silkie mommy. Or should i just give her more eggs.

Slip the baby under her at night, or try her during the day to see if she just takes it, since she's a silky. If she's just got off being broody, it would not be great for her health to sit another 21 days with limited eating etc.

Poor Mama. Silkies are such great mommies she probably would take it but watch carefuly to see. I wouldn't give her more eggs either.
