Hi, I have a female Muscovy duck that I just found on eggs. I currently have a full coop, & don't want to hatch any ducklings if at all possible.. I candled her eggs & they appear to look almost exactly like the fresh eggs I collected from my nesting boxes this morning. Defiantly are less than 4 days developed. Can I take her off her nest? Is that going to traumatized her? I also don't want to kill baby ducks :( please, any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

If you candled and no development she probably just started so just take them and toss. I just had to do this with one of my Muscovy ducks she is still inside but after 2 days with out her eggs under her she has calmed down alot and will probably come out on her own in another day or 2. I did wait till she came outside to eat and swim in the pool then I went in gathered the eggs stirred up the bedding and left. she'll be upset for a while but they do get over it I promise.

I've been doing this since May since my coops are full too.
