x-posted in Emergencies/Diseases, but this doesn't feel like an emergency, so...

14 month old Buff Orpington, hiding out in the laying box for two days now (yesterday and today). Today I lifted her off, placed her outside run and she drank water and ate, wandered around a bit like normal, and settled down in one of their favorite dust bath locations. Once the door to the run was opened again a couple of hours later, she went up directly and back in the laying box.

I'm pulling eggs out, but she hasn't laid in two days (very odd for her, but I know it's not out of the ordinary). No recent trauma, cold snap, weird anything out of the ordinary. Two other ladies have no change in behavior.

I just checked to see if she's bound, and couldn't feel anything solid at all. Inserted finger up to 2nd knuckle. She is snacking on cracked corn I gave her, and drinking water, but angry. She's all puffed up. Poop is normal and solid.

Just broody? Or is there some other ailment this sounds like of which I'm unaware?

If so, I have to figure out how to make that stop, pronto. Blocking off that box? I have two (as I only have 3 girls).

From the sound of it, it just sounds like you have a broody hen!
