Broody or egg bound chicken

I have a bantam Cochin that is almost 5 months old and yesterday she spent over 12 hours in the laying boxes she usually only sits in there for a couple of hours and leaves her egg in the nest but yesterday we had to sit her in warm water for a half an hour before she laid and egg and even after she laid her egg she sat in the laying boxes for the rest of the day. Can anyone tell me why she started doing this

given the breed, my guess is broody. Check tonight if she's sleeping on the nest, that's a hallmark of a broody. Other traits are...she'll flatten out one the nest like a chicken pancake, and make a peculiar growling sound when you mess with her. Doesn't matter if she has eggs or not, it's a hormonal thing.
