broody question

    ok i have this year old hen who after her molt has laid 2 count 'em 2 eggs and now i think she has started to go broody i dont have nest boxes out to prevent this very thing i only have dog houses in my breeding pens but she has decided to make a nest sort of thing in the dog house she is throwing things around in there and everything......now my roo i have in with her he is only 7 months could he be fathering any eggs from her???? and my real question is is this kinda thing normal???? and how long can i expect this behavior to go on for????

    Some hens like to go broody be there eggs or just rocks. If your roo is 7mo old, and you think he's doing the deed, you might be able to get some chicks from her, but else, for her health, it would be best to break her by not allowing her to nest and just keeping her in a wire cage where she can't sit well. Some hens will break in half a day, some 3 days, while others would just starve themselves if you didn't kick them from the nest.

    i did her spell only lasted a day and a half and idk if my roo is doing his deed or not
