Broody sat on fertile egg for 1-2 days. Is it OK to eat?

I have a BO that has recently decided to go kinda-broody. For a while, she was just sitting on an egg for most of one day, then she'd give up. But she was on one all day yesterday and still on it this morning and possibly was on it since night before last. So, that's 24-36 hours, roughly... maybe even 48 hours. I booted her off this morning, though she was very sad about it.

So, my question is... is this egg still OK to eat? Would it have gone through any real changes in this short period of time?

    Thanks for your help!

It will be okay to eat but it might not be very appetizing. Crack it open and see how it looks! And take pictures.
