Broody Silkie - Time Line Inside

Our mama-wanna-be went broody on April 20th. She came out of it on May 20th. And today May 24th, laid her first post-broody egg. I found this interesting and wanted to share.

PS: I didn't let her hatch any eggs.

My silkie went broody for about the same amount of time. It was very hard to get her to eat or drink, even by hand and she's still a bit weak from the whole thing. No eggs yet from her but she is getting a little bit stronger every day. That was rough.

I had a post over in the sickness board about her acting funny, wobbly, takes a few steps and then sits down. I am not sure if it was the same timing from the last time she was broody, but I will know for next time. She is acting fine now.

I would take her out of the nest box and set her in the run, she would immediately start to eat and drink then go back in.
