Broody silkie wants momma cochins egg..??

I have a cochin who has been laying on an egg and it is starting to hatch.. She does not compare to my broody silkies as far as dedication is concerned. She is off the egg often. I guess she has done ok though since it has developed fine. Anyway I have a silkie who is trying to go broody who got on the egg while the cochin was eating. Deep down inside I would rather have the silkie be the momma because they do such a wonderful job and the cochin is just "kinda there".. it seems.
Should I put the cochin back on the egg before it hatches? Will I do her emotional damage

if the silkie hatches out the chick? Will the silkie take care of the chick?

If she has a good history of mothering let the silkie have it. Mine will adopt older chicks and take care of them. good luck
