My broody turkey (10 month old Narragansett) has been sitting on a nest of eggs for the last 28 days or so. Today we finally noticed some of the eggs look like they are starting hatch. Unfortunately she built her nest out of the pen and has to cross two small creeks to get back to the pen. I've heard that domestic turkeys often accidentally kill their babies (leading them through wet grass, taking them out into the rain) - should I take the babies from her? Or even the hatching eggs and raise them in a brooder instead? Will she leave the nest before all of the other eggs hatch? Thanks for the help!
