So last weekend Steve and I were in Illinois for a friend of mine's wedding and we went to the Brookfield Zoo on Sunday before our flight home! [IMG] It was awesome! There were a few things being worked on and a lot of animals sleeping...but the place is HUGE and we certainly weren't at a lack for things to look at....lol I took WELL over 300 photos....and uploaded the 71 that I was able to get to look halfway decent on to Flickr [IMG] NO way I'm linking all those to here...so here's the link... http://www.flickr.com/photos/stinaksu/sets/72157624234409733/

    and
here's a little taste of what's there! [IMG]

We used to go there every summer when I was a kid, it was huge then, so I'm sure it's massive now!

Despite of living in Illinois I never went to Brookfield Zoo however the St Louis Zoo is bigger and better selecctions of animals there.....quoted by my sister who visited both zoos. I would like to visit both!

I love the photos, what kind of camera did you use for these potraits?

I have been to the st. louis zoo...but it was years ago...I don't remember st. louis being all that different from brookfield....brookfield also just opened a new section in may for their bears and wolves. Brookfield sure seemed huge to me and the last big zoo I went to was the Bronx Zoo.

My camera is a Canon Powershot A620....which is FABULOUS for macros...but craptacular for everything else...it is horrible at picking up available light...even in bright sunlight if you aren't near the subject. These photos are edited A LOT
