    ------ BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA - SATURDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2011 ------ 9AM - 2PM -------

We had a large turn out of sellers and buyers despite the heat of august at our last swap. It will be alot cooler so the turnout should be even better.

Come join a local swap between Tampa and Ocala at the Brooksville Tractor supply store, 18741 Cortez Blvd. Brooksville, fl 34601. Please let me know if you are interested in attending and what you might bring so we can compile a list for the store as well as other people here on the board. The store is passing out flyers so it should be a good day. Please bring tents for shade as they have limited shade there.

The store is located on the 50 bypass, approx 12 miles from I-75 and Cortez Blvd (Hwy 50)- Exit 301, 5 miles from the suncoast parkway – Exit 46, Other options include coming from US-41 or US-98. SEE MAP BELOW

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you there. You can contact me with questions 813-781-0569, please be sure to leave a message and I'll get back with you.

    Matthew

We have posted this on craigslist as well; surprisingly a lot of people saw this on their last time.

Hi, what do you get for your bat houses? And is there a good bat population in central Fl.?

    Thank-you,

I don't know about how much the bat houses are, but YES we have BATS!

We've got a bunch living in our middle school where I teach, I can't wait for breeding season to end so maintenance can kick them out. They SMELL. [IMG]

Florida overall has a good size bat popluation. The houses I still have available are $35. They are built to University of Florida standards for florida bats.

What is the recommendations for height & location of hanging bat houses? DO you do anything to attract them to the house, to begin nesting? Because, while I hate the way they smell at work, I wouldn't mind them around my backyard. At work their guano lands on concrete and collects in the eves. Here they would be way in the back by the wooded area. (not deed-restricted neighborhood).
