Dogs are most often regarded as predators here, especially by folks keeping smaller numbers of birds without other types of livestock where dogs are used as guardians. They can also be a pest. I routinely handle some of my birds to monitor among other things feather development / replacement. Best time for me is after dark about time pens are locked down for night. Birds of interest are collected and brought inside for observations and my dog is insistent upon following his birds whenever they are out of place. While taking photographs of wing feathers I got a little too focused on getting a good shot and failed to notice why one of my roosters kept pitching forward while I tried to take photographs. See if you can see in first image why bird kept pitching forward. Then look at second image below. After figuring out problem I took this picture. The shame of it all to be pulled from roost for this sort of treatment.
